Frances “Frankie” Cantin Herrod of Vicksburg died Thursday, June 25, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. She was 73.

Mrs. Herrod was the daughter of the late John and Mary Mascagni Cantin. She was a loving and dedicated wife, sibling, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She retired after a long career as a surgical nurse and was of the Catholic faith.

Mrs Herrod was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas N. Herrod II; and a brother, Johnny Cantin.

Survivors include her husband, Tommy N. Herrod; three daughters, Tecia (Steve) Ivey, Julie Ashley and Jodie (Chris) Williams; brothers, Mike (Carole) Cantin of Pensacola, Fla., and Tommy (Cindy) Cantin of Delta, La., Sammy Cantin of California and Carl Cantin of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Margaret C. Dennis of Delta, La.; four grandchildren, Cara Hillyard (Trey), Natalee (Jamie) Chandler, Allison Kurtz, Hunter Williams; four great-grandchildren, Embyrlee Jade, Stella, Manny and Johnathan; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. P.J. Curley officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mary Ann Wright, Patsy Tompkins, Judy Morrissey, Bo Whittenburg, Camille Doiron, Mary Ellen Leo, Virginia Black, Mary Ann Haley.
