Butler football camp

New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler and the Vicksburg Gator Booster Club will host the inaugural “Malcolm Butler Football Camp” on July 18 at Vicksburg High’s Memorial Stadium.

The camp is for boys in grades 1-8, will run from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and is free for all participants. Participation is limited to 250 children, however, and all applications that have been handed out must be returned by July 8.

Vicksburg High School is looking for two archery instructors for its start-up competitive archery program. All interested applicants should contact VHS principal Deowarski McDonald at 601-636-2914.

Clear Creek Junior golf camp

Clear Creek Golf Course in Bovina will host a junior golf camp July 7-10, from 9 to 11 a.m. each day. The cost is $80 per person and includes instruction, range balls, refreshments, prizes, a tournament and a pizza party.

City tennis program

The City of Vicksburg Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a daily youth tennis camp this summer at the Halls Ferry Park courts. The camp is open to children between the ages of 6-18, and is for all skill levels.

A session for beginner players will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. daily, and a session for advanced players each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. The camp will continue through July.

Hopson football camp

Alcorn State University and head coach Jay Hopson will host a football camp for high school players July 17 at Jack Spinks Stadium on the Lorman campus.

The camp will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. The cost is $25, and players should bring tennis shoes, cleats, shorts and a T-shirt.

M-Braves baseball camp

The Mississippi Braves Baseball Camp is scheduled for July 23-25 at Trustmark Park in Pearl. The camp will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, and is open to boys and girls ages 5-14. It will feature instruction by the Mississippi Braves players and staff, and each participant will receive an M-Braves cap and merchandize, lunch and beverages each day, a certificate of achievement, two tickets to the M-Braves games on July 23, 24 and 25, and an autograph session and on-field recognition prior to the game on July 25.

The cost of the camp is $150 per child.
