Robert Ernest King

Robert Ernest King went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, June 26, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was 78.

Mr. King retired as an electrician with the ICG Railroad and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He could catch fish when no one else could and once killed two deer with one shot. He attended Triumph Church of Vicksburg.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Bessie King and a younger sister, Jewel King.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Anita Riddle King; three sons, Ronnie Martin King (Karen) of Hot Springs, Ark., Randy Lee King of Vicksburg and Mike Riddle (Ann) of Cleveland, Wis.; two sisters, Hope Joyner of Port Gibson and Billy Pennington of Abbott, Texas; a brother, Cecil Knox King (Joyce) of Huntsville, Ala.; five grandchildren, Mason King, Justin King, Dee Jay Mulligen, Brad Riddle, Chelsea Riddle; four great-grandchildren; and cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Fields of Triumph Church officiating.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 1 from 5 to 7 p.m., and Thursday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be T. J. Launius, Mason King, Justin King, Sid Hynum, Charlie James, Charles Bryant, Kenny Fields and Walden Bost.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. George Abraham and  Carolyn Johnson, his devoted friend and caregiver.
