Sharen Ulrich Wilson

Sharen Ulrich Wilson, age 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 27, 2015.

She was born in New Orleans and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in New Orleans.

She and her husband, Dixon, fell in love with the city of Hammond, La., and decided to raise their family there. She was known throughout the Hammond community as the owner of The Old Frame House.

Sharen was one of the founding members of the Richard Murphy Hospice Board in Hammond and a loyal member of the Downtown Development District. She was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Hammond and St. Michael Catholic Church in Vicksburg.

Sharen was a fiercely devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, a sacrificial giver, and the rock and stronghold of her family. She was a leader in her community and a beautiful lady, inside and out. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She leaves behind her daughters, Menette Burns and husband Thomas, Melissa Taylor and husband Michael, Michelle Juneau and husband Brian “Eboo,” Dianne “DeeDee” Mahony and husband Rusty; her honorary daughters, Kristie Planetta Jackson and Jennifer Planetta Wascom; sister, Judy Planetta and husband Jim; brothers, Michael Ulrich and wife Lurline, and Allen Ulrich and wife Diane; grandchildren Emily and Claire Burns, Christopher Freese, Brody Juneau, and Reed, Henry and Elliot Mahony.

Preceding Sharen in death were her husband, Roger Dixon Kemp Wilson; parents, Henry Ulrich and Althea D’Aquin Ulrich; and sister, Dianne Ulrich Waguespack.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at St. Albert Catholic Church in Hammond. Father Randy Cuevas will officiate, and the burial will follow in the Rose Memorial Park Cemetery.
