Clear Creek Ladies report
On Wednesday, the Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association hosted its July retirees scramble. The winning team included Jane Loboda, Robert Baudo, Eddie Fowler and Clark McNair. Second place went to Emily Bonelli, Lloyd Clark, Doug Dick and Bob Walters. Sherron Engdahl, Donnie Frith, Jim Hurley and Tom Rosser finished third.
Linda McHann and Joe Lorinc made the longest drives. Closest to the pin honors went to Chris Williams, Wayne Scott and Tom Rosser. Chip-Ins were made by Richard Baudo, Del Cox, Charlotte Crist, Doug Dick, Sherron Engdahl, Jane Loboda, John Nelson and Bob Walters.
Malcolm Butler football camp
New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler and the Vicksburg Gator Booster Club will host the inaugural “Malcolm Butler Football Camp” on July 18 at Vicksburg High’s Memorial Stadium.
The camp is for boys in grades 1-8, will run from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and is free for all participants. Participation is limited to 250 children, however, and all applications that have been handed out must be returned by Wednesday.

VHS needs archery instructors
Vicksburg High School is looking for two archery instructors for its start-up competitive archery program. All interested applicants should contact VHS principal Deowarski McDonald at 601-636-2914.
Clear Creek Junior golf camp
Clear Creek Golf Course in Bovina will host a junior golf camp July 7-10, from 9 to 11 a.m. each day. The cost is $80 per person and includes instruction, range balls, refreshments, prizes, a tournament and a pizza party.

City tennis program
The City of Vicksburg Parks and Recreation Deprtment is hosting a daily youth tennis camp this summer at the Halls Ferry Park courts. The camp is open to children between the ages of 6-18, and is for all skill levels. A session for beginner players will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. daily, and a session for advanced players each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. The camp will continue through July. Jay Hopson Football Camp
Alcorn State University and head coach Jay Hopson will host a football camp for high school players July 17 at Jack Spinks Stadium on the Lorman campus.

Southern Miss baseball camp
Southern Miss will host a baseball camp for children in grades 1-7, from July 13-15. The camp will cover fundamentals in hitting, baserunning, and defensive techniques.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day at Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg, with sign-in taking place from 8:15 to 9 a.m. The cost of each camp is $165 per person, and the camps are limited to 100 participants.

Hinds soccer recruiting camp
The Hinds Community College women’s soccer program will host its first Soccer ID recruiting camp on July 16.
The camp is for rising female high school seniors and will be held at Tom Shepherd Field on the Raymond campus beginning at 10 a.m. There will be two training sessions as well as a campus tour, and lunch will be provided.
