Both stabbing victims were taken to Merit Health Rive Region Medical Center where they were treated, Williams said. Police did not release the names of the victims.

Another person was detained in the stabbing but had not been charged Tuesday, Williams said.

Carter was taken to the Warren County Jail following the court appearance.

Tallulah woman killed in crash

A Tallulah died this morning after crashing and being ejected from her vehicle in Madison Parish.

Gail Whatley, 54, was killed when her westbound 2002 GMC Envoy crashed at about 5:40 a.m., Louisiana State Police spokesman Michael Reichardt said. Whatley was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected during the crash, he said.

“For unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled off the roadway and the driver overcorrected.  The vehicle then traveled across both lanes and began to rollover,” he said.

A toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis and the crash is still under investigation.

In 2015, Troop F has investigated 24 fatal crashes resulting in 26 deaths.
