PCA basketball camp

Porters Chapel Academy will host a youth basketball camp on July 31. The camp is for children in grades 2-6, and will run from 8 a.m. to noon. The cost is $30. Clear Creek Ladies report

On July 15, Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association members enjoyed match play. Joyce Johnson was the winner, followed by Susan Pharr in second place and Pat Tinney in third. Johnson and Tinney tied for the lowest putting score.

VHS needs archery instructors

Vicksburg High School is looking for two archery instructors for its start-up competitive archery program. All interested applicants should contact VHS principal Deowarski McDonald at 601-636-2914.

Sanderson Farms Championship volunteers

Volunteer registration for the 2015 Sanderson Farms Championship golf tournament is now open. The PGA Tour event, scheduled for Nov. 2-8 at The Country Club of Jackson, is in need of volunteers to serve as everything from hospitality suite ambassadors to marshals and caddies.

Each volunteer will receive a volunteer package including a Sanderson Farms Championship logoed golf shirt and hat, two weekly credentials, the opportunity to play a round at the Country Club of Jackson, food and beverage during volunteer shifts, and invitations to volunteer-only events. In addition, Sanderson Farms will give volunteers a lightweight Sanderson Farms Championship outerwear piece. Volunteers should be at least 15 years old and are encouraged to sign up early for preferred assignments.

VSO registration open

Registration for the Vicksburg Soccer Organization’s fall recreational league will continue through Aug. 23.

The registration fees are $60 for children 6-and-under; $80 for the U-8 division; $85 for the U-10 league; and $90 for children 12 and older. Football camps at St. Al

St. Aloysius will host a pair of youth football camps next week.

The Fast Feet Performance speed and agility camp is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, from 6:15 to 8:15 a.m. each day at Balzli Field. The camp is for players ages 9-21, and the cost is $55. For information, visit fastfeetperformance.com

On Wednesday, July 29, St. Al will host its own annual youth football camp for children ages 5-12. The camp will feature instruction from St. Al coaches and players. The cost is $40.
