The fate of the Kuhn Memorial Hospital property is going to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.

Community Development Director Victor Grey-Lewis said no one with an interest in the abandoned property turned up for a 2 p.m. meeting in his office to discuss the building’s future. The meeting is part of the requirements under the city’s slum clearance ordinance to discuss a plan to either renovate or demolish the building.

Grey-Lewis said he will a recommendation about the building to the board at its Aug. 10 meeting.

The board put the property under the slum clearance ordinance July 6, after the June 28 abduction and murder of Sharen Wilson, whose body was found on the 12.8-acre Kuhn property, 1422 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, June 28. A police investigation determined she had been killed in the hospital building and her body left outside.
