Ernest L. Patten

LORMAN — Ernest L. Patten of Lorman died Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. He was 72.

He was born Dec. 19, 1942, in Jefferson County to the late Charlie Patten and Mary Shorts Patten. He was self-employed and a member of Morning Star Baptist Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cornelius Patten and Roger Patten; and a sister, Ruth Hall.

Survivors include his wife, Aldoria Patten; two stepsons, Monte Hood of Akron, Ohio, and James S. Williams Jr. of Crestview, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Candace C. Simmons of Mesa, Ariz,; five brothers, Nathan Winfield, Charles Patten, Eddie Patten and Carl Patten, all of Akron, Ohio, and Aaron Patten Sr. of Lorman; two sisters, Mary Louise Brown of Lorman and Erma Clark of Port Gibson; four aunts, four step-granddaughters; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at Morning Star Baptist Church in Lorman with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial will be at McCaa Cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
