Robert Earl ‘R.E.’ Coker

Robert Earl “R.E.” Coker died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015 in the Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 86.
Born in Delta City, he lived most of his life in Valley Park where he retired from Southern Natural Gas Co. He was an avid hunter and horseback rider, wining many trophies. He was a member of the Vicksburg Church of Christ.
R.E. was preceded in death by his parents, Troy H. and Lillie Mae Sandifer Coker; his son, Robert Steven Coker and his sister, Mona Lane Coker.
Survivors include his wife, Margretia N. Coker of Vicksburg; his two daughters, Teresia C. (Bendel) White of Vicksburg and Denise Coker of West Monroe, La.; his three grandchildren, Kala (Craig) Williamson, Ryan (Amanda) Kindrix and Rachel (Curtis) Dickey and his two great-grandchildren, Josh and Kenley Williamson.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3, 2015 at the Vicksburg Church of Christ with Norman Maranto officiating. Interment will be in the Valley Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2 at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.
Pallbearers will be Glenn White, David White, Irby Summerlin, Wade Hammack, Curtis Dickey, Willie Nettles and Dean Caldwell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Boy Clinkscales, Buddy Hankins, Matt Gore, Gary Downs, the member’s of Po-Boy Hunting Club, the employees of Southern Natural Gas and the Nursing Staff of the Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital.
