“We’re wanting to reach into the community to let people who are lost and need help know that we’re here to help,” she said. “We have men and women who have been giving testimony of what God’s done in their life to change their life.”

The day also featured vendors, including Chariots of Light and Arms of Mercy.

“I think we had a really great day,” she said. “I hope we have more people back next year because this is something we plan to keep doing.”

The point of Summer Jam fits into the organization’s mission, Kapp said.

“We try to reach out into the community to let people know that there are safe places for them to go if they are on drugs or if they’re in a crisis,” she said.

The organization typically focuses on substance abuse, but the work doesn’t stop there, Kapp said.

“We help people get off drugs,” she said. “We kind of do everything.”

The organization also helps to place children and house men and women, Kapp said.

“When I was 35 I got saved,” she said. “I was that kid years ago that had kind of went through a lot of things in life, and at 35 my whole life changed.”

Kapp said one young person came into her life and everything changed. She started running Beautiful Deliverance out of an office three years ago with the help of her business partner Dale Barnes.

“More of them came,” she said. “I started helping them. I rehabbed a girl at my house for six months for her to get clean and have a safe place.”

Beautiful Deliverance also runs a thrift store year-round at 4304 Halls Ferry Rd.
