Christine Rebecca Pettway Brown died Friday, Aug.14, 2015, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 53.

Born in Vicksburg, she was the daughter of the late John Hamilton Pettway Sr. and Dora Rebecca Irwin Pettway. A former resident of Vicksburg and Yazoo County, she had been a resident of Crystal Springs for a number of years. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Pete Brown; two daughters, Cherie Harrison of Hattiesburg and Crystal Williams of Long Beach; son, Christopher Williams of Long Beach; and a brother, Jason Pettway of Vicksburg. Mrs. Brown has numerous grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cindy Pettway; and a brother, John Pettway Jr.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Riles Funeral Home Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the service.
