Police want help to ID robber

An armed robber was on the lam Friday after stealing cash from a gas station earlier in the week, and police were asking for help finding him.

The black man who appears to be in his late teens or early 20s was caught on video robbing the Texaco at 4110 around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

In a still from surveillance video released by police, the man is wearing a black shirt and pants, white shoes, sunglasses and a gray baseball cap.

The robber is between 5’7” and 5’8” and weights 140 to 150 pounds, Williams said.

Anyone with information that will identify the robber is encouraged to call Vicksburg police at 601-636-2511 or Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 601-355- 8477.  Callers to Crime Stoppers remain anonymous and do not have to testify in court. The organization will pay a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of a felony suspect.
