Myrtie Greer Brown

Myrtie Greer Brown of Port Gibson died August 20, 2015, at her home. She was 84.

Born Oct. 26, 1930, she was a bus driver for Claiborne County School District for many years, and was a secretary at Farm Bureau Insurance in Port Gibson. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Jenny Greer; seven brothers, James, William “Stack,” Percy, Wiley “Shorty,” Rolly Peck,” Cecil and Ray Greer.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Vernon Brown; sister, Alice Marie Graham; son, Ronald B. Brown; daughter, Valerie Brown Case; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson. Burial will be at Wintergreen Cemetery with Bro. Richard Taylor and the Rev. Bert Bryant officiating and under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.

A reception will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church in Port Gibson following the burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Shiloh Baptist Church 3010 Karnac Ferry Rd. Port Gibson, Ms. 39150.

Pallbearers will be Terry Myles, Russell Greer, William Greer, Mike Greer, Thad Greer and Wiley Greer. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Willis, Everett Greer and Mark Greer.
