Fall tennis program

The City of Vicksburg’s youth fall tennis program will begin Monday at the Halls Ferry Park courts. The program will run Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 5 to 6 p.m., and is free. For more information, call Rick Shields at 601-618-4757.

Co-ed adult softball

Registration for the City of Vicksburg’s co-ed adult softball league will continue through Sept. 11. The cost is $175 per team, plus an additional $10 per player for residents of Claiborne County and $20 per player for residents of Sharkey and Issaquena counties. Registration forms are available at the Parks and Recreation Department office at 100 Army-Navy Drive. For more information, call Joseph Graves at 601-634-4514.

Registration for the City of Vicksburg’s fall youth baseball league will continue through Sept. 11. The registration fee is $25 per player. There are five age divisions for players ages 5-15, and coaches are needed for all participating teams.

VSO registration open

Registration for the Vicksburg Soccer Organization’s fall recreational league will continue through today. The fees are $60 for children 6-and-under; $80 for the U-8 division; $85 for the U-10 league; and $90 for children 12 and older.

Rebel Club meeting

The Central Mississippi Ole Miss Rebel Club will host its first meeting of the 2015-16 season Sept. 1 at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in Jackson. Chuck Rounsaville, the publisher of the “Ole Miss Spirit” magazine, will be the featured speaker.

The social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and the program at 6:30. Tickets for the event are $25 per person. The annual dues for the Rebel Club, which include all meetings, are $100 for an individual or $130 for couples.

Sanderson Farms volunteers

Volunteer registration for the 2015 Sanderson Farms Championship golf tournament is now open. The PGA Tour event, scheduled for Nov. 2-8 at The Country Club of Jackson, is in need of volunteers to serve as everything from hospitality suite ambassadors to marshals and caddies.
