Henry Elmer Hill

Henry Elmer Hill died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Jackson. He was 91.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, he was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Vicksburg National Military Park after 30 years of service and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents, John Bennett and Ruby Givens Hill; his wife, Marie Baxter Hill; two brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include his son, Mike (Barbara) Hill of Vicksburg; two sisters, Sarah Hill and Earnestine Hill, both of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Benjamin Craig (Rosa) Hill and Kacey Michelle (Tom) Riley; and two great-grandchildren Anthony Craig Hall and Alexis Catherine Hill.

Funeral services will be 11a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Cresswell officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from10 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of the service.
