PORT GIBSON — Carl Giles died Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 63.

Mr. Giles was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alma Wyatt-Giles.

Survivors include a son, Jeremiah Giles of Vicksburg; daughter, Cartina Wilson of Port Gibson; a granddaughter; four brothers, John Giles III of New Carrollton, Md., Daniel Giles of North Augusta, S.C., and Colonel Giles and James Giles, both of Upper Marlboro, Md.; 10 sisters, Catherine Curtis, Erma Walker and Delbra Jones, all of Port Gibson, Loretta Easter of South Holland, Ill., Johnnie Newsome of Terry, Georgia Giles of Temple Hill, Md., Lillie Giles and Alma Giles, both of Washington, D.C., Veda Giles of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Barbara Fisher of Seat Pleasant, Md.; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be noon, Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Magnolia M.B. Church in Port Gibson, with the Rev. Hugh Johnson officiating and under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.
