St. Al soccer crushes Lee

Perhaps needing a challenge, St. Aloysius soccer coach Scott Mathis flip-flopped his offensive and defensive players Wednesday for the team’s match with Lee Academy. It still didn’t slow it down.

Madelyn Polk scored three goals, Sara McDaniel had two goals and five assists, and the Lady Flashes crushed Lee 11-0 in Bovina. It was St. Al’s fifth consecutive win to start the season.

Brooklyn Breithaupt and Shelby Bottin added two goals apiece for St. Al, which led 4-0 at the half before Mathis restored his normal lineup. It scored seven times in the second half to finish the rout. Cass Hudson had a goal, Cameron Mathis had a goal and an assist, and Sydney Mathis had two assists.
