ATLANTA — Our much loved husband, father, son and friend, George Clarence Cowgill IV, 43, led a vibrant life and left us on Sunday, Sept. 6, and went to his home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He leaves behind his wife, Adrienne Anthony Cowgill; their children, Finley Grace, 8, and George “Fiver” Clarence V, 4; and his parents, Dianne Pringle Cowgill of Panama City, Fla., and George C. Cowgill III, and his wife, Mary Anne, to cherish his memory.

George will be remembered and missed by his father-in-law, Harris Clay Anthony of Vicksburg; his brother-in-law Harris Clay Anthony II (Peggy); and his nieces and nephews, Caleb, Madisyn, Ryanne and Thomas.

George will be remembered and missed by other family members, Rick Flack (Kelly); Michele Williams (Tom); and Laura Hendrix; aunts and uncles Clyde Pringle (Debra); Dorothy Anne Armstrong (Gerald); and cousins John Whited (Leslie); Jimmy Whited (Denise); Tori Penny (Millard); and Kristi Wolfe (Spencer). He also leaves behind many other nieces, nephews and extended family.

George is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorothy and Vernon Pringle of Panama City; his grandfather, George C. Cowgill, Jr.; and grandmother, Beatrice (Bea) Michael Cowgill, both of Panama City; and his mother-in-law, Merrilyn Mitchell Anthony of Vicksburg.

George was born April 6, 1972, in Atlanta. He grew up in Panama City and graduated from Bay High School in 1990.  He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1995 with a degree in civil engineering, and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

He moved to Atlanta to start a career in the commercial construction industry and helped manage the construction of the World Village for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.  Most recently, he worked as a principal project manager with Avison Young. In his free time, George enjoyed fishing, hunting, motor sports, snow skiing, spending time at the beach and anything outdoors with his family and friends.

The memorial service will be Saturday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, 3180 Peachtree Road, Atlanta.  A reception will immediately follow from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
