PORT GIBSON — Janet Johnson-Jackson died Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at the Claiborne County Medical Center in Port Gibson. She was 51.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie R. Hyder, and Samuel L. Hardges.
Survivors include by her husband, Sammie Jackson of Port Gibson; a daughter, Destinee Minor of Port Gibson; six sisters, Christine Carroll, Dorothy Hyder, Sandra Hyder, Carolyn Graham, and Sue McCalplin, all of Port Gibson, and Carnia Hutton of Vicksburg; four brothers, Eddie Green and Sylvester Green, both of Port Gibson, Samuel Hardges Jr. of Jackson and Emanuel Hardges of Pattison; one uncle; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for will be 1p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Mercy Seat Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Frank McGriggs officiating. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson. Visitation is Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.
