Clara Frances Drake died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, at her residence. She was 68.

Born in Vicksburg, she was the daughter of the late Chester E. and Clara Frances Barrett Drake. Miss Drake was a graduate of Millsaps College and received a Master’s of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Southern Mississippi, graduating with honors.

She was an artist and writer and was a successful equestrian in crosscountry and dressage.

She was an avid flower gardener, continuing her mother’s love of flowers and gardening.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brother, Carl Eugene Drake of New Orleans; and many friends, including John C. Strong and Cathy Schroder. She is also survived by numerous relatives in the Drake and Barrett families.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, from the chapel of First Baptist Church, with Dr. Matt Buckles, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be in the church chapel from 1:30 pm until the hour of the service.

Memorials may be made to charities of choice.
