Willie ‘Mannie’ Nichols Jr.

Willie “Mannie” Nichols Jr. died Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at his home. He was 56 years old.

Mr. Nichols was born to the late Willie Monroe Nichols Sr. and Sophie Caldwell-Nichols July 10, 1959.

He was a member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and worked many years with Grand Gulf and was a member of the Carpenter Union. He was a member of the Warren Central High School Class of 1977. He graduated from Hinds Community College in 1979 and attended Alcorn State University.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Nichols; and his grandparents, Sylvia Thomas and Johnny and Thelma Caldwell.

Survivors include his mother, Sophie Caldwell-Nichols; two sisters, Wanda Caldwell-Wilson and LaTarsha Nichols, all of Vicksburg; and uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be noon Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie Hardy officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
