Eddie Columbus Rhodman Sr.

Eddie Columbus Rhodman Sr. died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson. He was 87.

Born in Vicksburg on June 7, 1928, he was the oldest child of four children born to the late Mr. Eddie and Mrs. Mary Lou Farris Rhodman.

He graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1945, and was a member of Standfield New Life Christian Church. He worked 40 years as a cement finisher at Waterways Experiment Station and 25 years as a security guard with the Vicksburg Public School System before retiring.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Iver Lee Williams Rhodman; brothers Johnnie Rhodman and George Rhodman; sister, Clara Rhodman Prosser, all of Vicksburg; a son, Eddie Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee; three daughters, Dr. Aleta Crawford of West Point, Kimberly Rhodman of Vicksburg and Erna (Durwyn) Duncan of Wichita, Kansas; five grandchildren; and nephews and nieces.

Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at Standfield New Life Christian Church, 1404 Lane St. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation is Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
