Charles N. Cockrell died Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. He was 81.

Born in Warren County, he was the son of the late Charlie Cockrell and Minnie Hearn Cockrell. Mr. Cockrell was a truck driver and a member of Northside Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sisters, Flora Allison and Lora Wilson (Windy); a brother Wilford Cockrell (Janie); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Truesdale Cockrell; two sisters, Gracie Emfinger and Aileen Brooks.

Services will be 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Frank Lescallette, pastor of Northside Baptist Church, officiating.  Visitation will be at Riles Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Pennington Sr., Ricky Pennington Jr., Dusty Pennington, Tristin Coats, Robert Wells and Jimmy Cockrell. Pallbearers will be members of the Hearn Family, Sandy Rainer and Dr. George Abraham II.
