It was a close Southwestern Athletic Conference game between Jackson State and Texas Southern with Jackson State taking the 34-30 victory.
LaMontiez Ivy threw 370 yards for three touchdowns against Texas Southern and rushed for 21 yards.
Devin Fosselman lead Jackson St in rushing yards with 129. Fosselman, Dan Williams and Jarius Moore each rushed for a touchdown in the victory.
Huntingdon 35, Bellhaven 21
Jacob McNeill caught a 26-yard pass from Clayton Webb to give the Blazers an early 7-0 lead but was quickly matched with a 3-yard rushing touchdown from John Iwaniec of Huntingdon.
Alonso Acosta punched in a 19-yard field goal putting the Blazers up 10-7 before Iwaniec again powered in a 2-yard touchdown for a 14-10 lead over the Blazers.
The Hawks scored 28 points in the second half with Iwaniec scoring four times throughout the game. Webb threw for 229 yards for a touchdown and two interceptions.
Hendrix 45, Millsaps 34
Millsaps had 390 passing yard and only two receiving touchdowns at the end of the fourth quarter. Chance Clowers threw both receiving touchdowns to Ty Durham and Zach Borne on a 9-yarder and a 7-yarder respectively.
Hendrix rushed for 328 yards with Dayton Winn gaining 226 yards and four touchdowns.
He had a big 44-yard rushing touchdown – his third of the game – early in to fourth and later scored Hendrix final touchdown on a 3-yard run ending a 70-yard drive.
Delta State 40, Albany State 0
The bulk of Delta State’s scoring came in the second quarter where they added 21 points to an early 6-0 lead.
The Golden Rams were able to keep up with the Statesmen on the ground with only 3 rushing yards separating their total, despite it getting them nowhere in the end.
They moved the ball for 128 yards on 36 tries and had six players combine for 213 receiving yards.
Tyler Sullivan threw three interceptions and one touchdown while gaining 281 yards in the air.
Alabama State 45, Mississippi Valley15
The Hornets jumped to an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Ruban Thruston went 7-of-16 for 100 yards.
