Michael Jay Jackson died Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at his home. He was 34.

Mr. Jackson was born Sept. 9, 1981, in Centerville to Michael Charles Jackson and Sherry Williams Jackson.

He attended Morning Star MB Church. He attended Vicksburg High School and was a student at Hinds Community College in Utica, where he was enrolled in the culinary arts program.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sherry Williams Jackson; a son, Michael Jackson Jr.; grandfather, Lucius Jackson; grandmother, Myrtle Cosey Jackson; and a sister, Denise LaShelle Jackson.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Michael Charles and Dorothy Jackson of Vicksburg; his grandparents, Robert and Victoria James of Woodville; one brother, LaDarrion D’Miko Jackson of Jackson; two sisters, Keesha Williams of Woodville and Nicki Marshall of Okinawa, Japan; and a nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Kimberly Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
