Mary Conner Blake Gorman

Mary Conner Blake Gorman passed away during the evening hours of Oct. 9, 2015, at her home, Blakely. She was 95.
Mary Conner was born Sept. 17, 1920, in Pass Christian to Daniel Warren and Elizabeth Madden Blake.
In her earlier life, she grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and enjoyed sailing and playing with her much beloved dogs, Pal and Rusty. She began a modeling career with the John Robert Powers agency in her late teens and was a Lucky Strike Girl, and joined the WAACS, serving in World War II. She was a life long dog lover, an avid gardener and a member of the Colonial Dames.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Gorman; sons, James E. Gorman Jr. (Jan), Michael Blake Gorman and Robert Blake Gorman; grandchildren, Katherine Stone Callis (Frank), Bernard E. Stone (Shannon), Nathan Gorman, Erin Gorman, Taylor Gorman and James E. Gorman (Kristin); two great-grandchildren, Jacks Callis and Madden Callis; and many dear nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Gorman was predeceased by her husband, James E. Gorman; her parents, D. W. and Elizabeth Blake; her daughter, Katherine Sullivan Gorman; sister, Elizabeth Lewis Madden (Nones); and brothers, D. C. Blake (Frances) and Paul Nones (Louise); and daughter-in-law, Cindy Gorman (Michael).
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Vicksburg-Warren Humane Society.
A private memorial service will be arranged at a later date.
