Funeral services for Massie Harris McCollum will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, Cedar Grove M. B. Church at with the Rev. Paul Fleming officiating. A final funeral service and burial will be  at 1 p.m. in New Orleans at St. Peter Baptist Church with the Rev Alex J. Robertson III officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. McCollum died Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at her home. She was 93.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Cedar Grove M. B. Church in Vicksburg, and New Home M. B. Church from her native home of New Orleans. She moved to Vicksburg after Hurricane Katrina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Katie Griffin; husband, James Harris Sr.; sons James Harris Jr. and Dempsey Harris; daughter Mary Cecil Harris; four brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include her son, James Edward Harris of New Orleans; six daughters, Vera Jones of Vicksburg, Betty Taylor of New Orleans, Elise Harris Austin, Texas, Audrey Webb-Smith of Harvey, Louisiana, Dursia Harris of New Orleans and Odile Bledsoe of Dallas, Texas; 27 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great- grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
