LAKE CHARLES, LA. — It is with great sadness that the family of Megan Marie Ward, 32, announces her passing on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015.
Megan was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She graduated from LaGrange High School and later earned her registered nursing degree from Lamar University. For the last year, she was employed at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. She took pride in carrying out the work she so dearly loved.
In addition to her caring spirit, Megan had many talents and hobbies. Her love for singing led to her being selected for the Louisiana Choral Foundation Les Petites Voix along with the LaGrange Senior High School Choir where they sang at Carnegie Hall. The Voice and American Idol were among her favorite television shows. She also loved and excelled in softball where she was both a player and coach.
Megan was a young woman of Christian faith and always devoted herself to her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Scott Neumann; sons, Dylan Neumann, Kaiden Ward and Baylor Neumann; parents, Steve and Cindy Ward; sister, Jessica Ward; niece and godchild, Victoria Matte, all of Lake Charles; paternal grandmother, Johnette Ney of Moss Bluff; maternal grandparents, Darwin and Esperanza Schuette of Las Vegas; father- and mother-in-law, Bobby and Brenda Neumann; brother- and sister-in-law, David and Toni Neumann of Vicksburg,; sister-in-law, Kaaren Neumann of Biloxi; nieces and nephews, Brianna, Alainna, Rachel, Maura and Eric of Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Robert Ney; and maternal grandmother, Juanita Schuette.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Brumfield of Immanuel Baptist Church in Vicksburg officiating.
Visitation Wednesday will be from 3 to 9 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m., and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
