Funeral services for Christine L. Jones-Sims will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at Greater Mount Zion M. B. Church Bishop Edward Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jones-Sims died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at the home of her daughter. She was 85.

She was a retired cafeteria manager for the Vicksburg Warren School District and was a member of the Mount Zion M. B. Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Tyner Ford Post 213, and a member of New Vicksburg Chapter No.1 Order of the Eastern Star PHA Jurisdiction of Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Freelove Williams Jones; husband, Isiah “Shorty” Sims; son, William Sims; daughter, Barbara Jean Collins; and sister, Lorene Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Rose Gooden of Jackson; four grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren; and cousins and other relatives.
