Charges against a Warren County woman accused of not properly caring for her child have been upgraded to felony child abuse, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said Saturday.

He said Kyra L. Gardner, 27, 4290 Hwy 27, was being held in the Warren County Jail Saturday on a $45,000 bond. She was arrested around 1p.m. Thursday.

Pace said Garner’s 11-month-old child was taken to Merit Health River Region around 9:30 a.m. Thursday with multiple injuries including bruising to the head and neck and a broken leg, and was later transferred to University of Mississippi Medical Center, where it is being treated for its injuries.
