Bessie Virginia Shaw, age 85, of Columbus, formerly of Vicksburg, passed away Oct. 18, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 23, 2015at 2 p.m. at Shaeffer’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Columbus, under the direction of Gunter & Peel Funeral Home.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Shaw was born Sept. 25, 1930, in Benoit to the late Jim and Bessie Phillips Worbington. She and her husband, Arthur Shaw Jr. of Columbus, were former owners and operators of Vicksburg Lanes.

Besides her husband, survivors include daughters, Doris Howard and her husband Jimmy of Columbus, Kathy Spencer and her husband Pat of Delta, Louisiana, and Deborah Flora and her husband Tony of Columbus.
