Oscar Ronald “Bo Bo” Jones Sr., formerly Edwards, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, at

St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson. He was 46.

Mr. Jones was born Jan. 22, 1969, to the late Willie Mae Jones and Oscar Laws in Vicksburg. He served as superintendent of Sunday school and a deacon until his death. He was a 1987 graduate of Vicksburg High School.

He was employed by the Jackson Public School System. He was past worshipful master for St. James Lodge, past deputy grand master District 5A, and life member of M. W. King Hiram Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. with 33 Degrees.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mae Jones; grandmother, Margaret Jones; grandfather. Willie Harris; grandmother, Inez Laws; grandfather Kelly Jelks Sr.; aunt, Clyde Evelyn Laws; three brothers, Gerald Thomas, Kenneth Jones and Collars Moore.

Survivors include seven children, Jennifer Valentine of Vicksburg, Kayla Jones of Mesquite, Texas, Robert Cole of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Keith Phillips of Hattiesburg, Tiana Nelson of Vicksburg, Oscar Jones Jr. of Vicksburg, and Karrenton Jones of Vicksburg; his father and stepmother, Oscar and Linda Laws of Utica; four sisters, Carla Jones, Sharon King, Marita Jones-Smith and Kim Ferguson, all of Vicksburg; five brothers, Chester Thomas of Edwards, Christopher Thomas of Jackson, Patrick Mack of Edwards, Marwin Laws and Trollars Moore, both of Jackson; a fiance’; three grandchildren; and uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives;

Services will be noon Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church in Vicksburg. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Willis and Sons Funeral home of Jackson.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home Friday with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.
