Absentee voting deadline is Saturday

The deadline for absentee voting for the Nov. 3 general election is noon Saturday.

“We will have booths set up in the hallway for people to come vote Saturday,” Warren County Circuit Clerk Jan Hyland Daigre said. “People can come any time from 8 (a.m.) to 5 (p.m.) through Friday to vote absentee, but the deadline is noon Saturday.”

Daigre said absentee voting at her office has been very active, calling it “brisk.”

She said people coming to vote absentee must have a photo I.D. like a driver’s license to vote. She added people who no longer drive can use their expired license, which she said is good as an identification card for 10 years. She added people can bring their voter registration, “But when they give us their name, we will look them up in the voter rolls and tell them in which district and precinct they vote.”

The November 3 election includes all statewide offices, legislative offices and county offices.

Locally, there are seven contested races for sheriff, tax assessor, District 1, 3, 4 and 5 supervisor and Justice Court North District judge.

Voters will also be asked to vote on Initiative 42 or 42A, which addresses state public school funding.
