Willie Mae “Hazel” Phillips

Willie Mae “Hazel” Phillips died Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at her home. She was 62.

Mrs. Phillips was the first child born Dec. 19, 1952, in Vicksburg to Janie Mae Williams and Willie F. Williams.

She was baptized at Old Greater Mount Zion church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jamie Mae Williams and Willie F. Williams; stepfather, William Robertson; a daughter, Tonya Cook; and her maternal grandparents, Willie B. Ellis and Joe Ellis.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Henry Phillips; sons, Anthony Cook, Henry Clark and Kenneth Clark all of Vicksburg; daughters, Tina Cook of Chicago, Sharon Clark Marshall of Vicksburg and Nicole Phillips Wynn of Atlanta; a brother, Tommy Williams of Vicksburg; two sisters, Gracie Williams and Evelyn Williams both of Vicksburg; three granddaughters; five grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert L. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home from 1 to 7 p.m., with family present 6 to 7 p.m.
