PORT GIBSON — Connie Blackburn Compton died Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at her home. She was 62.

Mrs. Compton was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Sallie Blackburn; a daughter, Monique Shorts; and two brothers, Joseph Bridges and Howard Bridges.

Survivors include her husband, James “Buddy” Compton of Fayette; four daughters, Natasha Johnson and Latasha Hill, both of Port Gibson, Constance Shorts of Nashville, Tennessee, and Glenise McGee of Jackson; an adopted daughter, Carla Truitt of Port Gibson; brother, Terry E. Alexander of Port Gibson; sister, Dorothy Mae Williams of Utica; 12 grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be 2p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at Second Baptist Church in Port Gibson.
