Rosie Mae Wynn

Rosie Mae Wynn was born Sept. 6, 1946, to the late Sennie Wynn and Melissie Chase Wynn of Anguilla. She attended Henry Weathers High School, where she graduated with the class of 1965. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi Valley State College in 1969 and her Master of Education degree from Tuskegee Institute in 1977.
Ms. Wynn retired from the Vicksburg Warren School District after 32 years of service. She confessed belief in Christ early in her life at True Light M.B. Church in Anguilla, and later joined Zion Travelers M.B. Church and Wayside Apostolic Church of Deliverance, where she served faithfully until she became a member of Faith Christian Center Living Word Ministries, under the leadership of Dr. Ollie Hardaway Jr. She remained faithful until her death.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Sennie and Melissie Wynn; and two sisters, Royzell and Elizabeth Wynn.
Rosie departed this life on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at her home.
Members of the family who survive her and rejoice in her memory are five nephews, Aaron (Angela) Wynn, Kevin Wynn, Darius (Nicole) Wynn, Michael (Donna) Wynn and Justin Wynn, all of Vicksburg; three nieces, Carolyn (Patrick) Shell, Makita Wynn, and Angel (Jeramie) Sims, all of Vicksburg; 14 great-nieces and nephews, and six great-great-nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends including the Hurston, Buchanan, Davis and Straughter families.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at Vicksburg City Auditorium with Elder Patrick Shell Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 1 to 7 p.m. with family present from 6 to 7 p.m., and Saturdayat the Vicksburg City Auditorium from noon until the hour of the service.
