Lois Smith Heflin

UTICA — Lois Smith Heflin died peacefully at home, as she wished, on Thursday, Oct. 29.

She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. David S. Smith; her husband, Paul L. Heflin; sister Mary; niece, Lindsey Guthu; and granddaughter, Brenna Hancock.

She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Hancock (David) of Ridgeland; beloved grandson, Brennen Hancock (Breanne) of Madison; niece, Lowell Hummer; nephew, David Hine; and several great- nieces.

Her family wishes to express appreciation to the caring people at Hospice Ministries, especially Stephanie Brister, RN, sitters Angela Edward and Jasmine McCoy. Special friends Angela Davis and Carey Brewer were instrumental in helping keep her at home during this lengthy illness.

Thanks also to her patient doctor Paul VanLandingham.

A private interment was Saturday, Oct. 31. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. at Utica Christian Church. Visitation will be from 2 to 3p.m.
