“Johnny” Purvis III, age 61, died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, from an accident.

Mr. Purvis had lived in Hermanville and Vicksburg for most of his life.  He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather, and his family was the most important thing to him.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Purvis Jr.

He is survived by his wife Shannon Purvis of Vicksburg; his daughters, Bridget Satcher (Chris) and Shane Wallace of Vicksburg; his son, Heath Purvis (Deanna) of Vicksburg; his mother Martha Purvis of Hermanville; his brothers Darrell Purvis (Robin) and Steve Purvis of Vicksburg, and Warren “Pete” Purvis of Hermanville; his stepson, Keith Parker of Vicksburg; his grandchildren,

Jacob Hoffman, Hallee Hoffman, Canon Satcher and Lilianna Satcher of Vicksburg; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg with the Rev. Robert Warren officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hermanville Cemetery in Hemanville.

Pallbearers will be Craig Gilbert, Kyle Eaton, Desten Segrest, J. J. Bearden, Mott Roland Headley and Jamie Cain. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Brown, Jerry Messer, Mac Drake, Crosby Simmons and Lee H. Abraham.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Parkway, Memphis, TN  38105.
