LORMAN — Odessa Shepherd Carr died Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at Claiborne County Senior Care in Port Gibson. She was 89.

Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Cornelia Shepherd; husband, James Carr; two brothers, Harry Shephard and Alfred Shepherd Jr.; and five sisters, Laura M. Noble, Aline Woodson, Margie Clark, Julie Larry and Brandon Shepherd.

Survivors include a son, Michael (Thembi) Carr of Jackson; granddaughter; four sisters, Lillian Shepherd and Linda Shepherd, both of Vicksburg, and Lanora Shepherd and Penny Shepherd, both of Jackson; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at China Grove M.B. Church in Lorman with the Rev. Robert McDaniel officiating. Burial will be at McCay Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home, Sunday, from 1p.m. until service time at the church.
