Items missing from shop

A television and saw were missing Tuesday following a burglary reported Monday in Vicksburg.

At 8 a.m. Monday, a 42-inch flat screen television valued at $400 and a skill saw valued at $50 were reported stolen by forced entry from Lee’s Body Shop at 2417 Clay St., Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

 

Tools missing from shop

A toolbox was missing Tuesday following a burglary reported Sunday in Vicksburg.

At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, a Snap-On toolbox filled with tools valued at $10,000 was reported stolen by forced entry from Allison’s Auto Body and Paint at 1904 Washington St., Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Anyone with information about the crime is encouraged to call Central Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 601-355-8477, Williams said. Callers remain anonymous and do not have to testify in court. Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of a felony suspect.

 

One arrested for stealing

A Warren County woman accused of stealing money was held without bail Tuesday.

Muriel Holmes, 44, 902 Blossom Lane, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. Monday and charged with embezzlement, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Holmes was arrested during a traffic stop for a warrant issued stemming from a complaint Oct. 13, Williams said. She is accused of having embezzled over $50,000 from a local bank where she was employed, Williams said.

 

One arrested for burglary

A Vicksburg man accused of entering into a building illegally with intent to commit a crime was held without bail Tuesday.

Quentin Taylor, 24, 1211 Grammar St., was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Monday and charged with two counts of burglary and one Mississippi Department of Corrections warrant, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Taylor was charged for two home invasions stemming for incidents reported by his ex-girlfriend of breaking into her residence on Nov. 23 and Nov. 30, Williams said. When he heard investigators were looking for him he turned himself in at the Vicksburg Police Department, Williams said.

 

One held for house arrest violation

A Warren County woman was held without bail Tuesday for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Katelyn Burton, 22, 480 Wells Road, was held in the Warren County jail Tuesday on a warrant from MDOC for an ISP (intensive supervision program) violation, according to Warren County jail records.

Burton was convicted of smuggling contraband and had been on house arrest, according to the MDOC website.

 

One held for drug court

A Vicksburg man was held without bail Tuesday for drug court.

Phillip Moore, 32, 1530 First North St., was held in the Warren County Jail Tuesday for a drug court violation, according to Warren County jail records.
