A Redwood man accused of eight charges was held without bail Saturday.

William Cody Breland, 19, 228 Whatley Road, was arrested by Sherriff Martin Pace at noon Friday in a lawnmower shed in a backyard on Shannon Lane, and charged with five counts of auto burglary, two counts of felony motor vehicle taking and one count of arson, Pace said.

Breland is charged with the auto theft reported on Dec. 11 of the 2005 tan suburban on the 100 block of North Drive that contained the children’s Lego robotics project, Pace said. The vehicle has since been recovered and Chaz Fowler and Teddy Jo Flowers were also charged in the incident for driving Breland to the vehicle and dropping him off there, Pace said.

Breland’s second auto theft charge is from the Dec. 15 report of a 2005 red GMC pickup truck stolen from the 100 block of Melissa Drive. The vehicle was recovered Friday on the side of Warriors Trial near the Big Black River and had been burned, Pace said. Breland was charged with arson for burning the vehicle, Pace said.

Of Breland’s five counts of auto burglary, one count is from an incident reported Nov. 27 on the 1300 block of Mt. Alban Road where a Garmin GPS, sunglasses and other items were taken from a 2003 Dodge pickup truck, Pace said. Ricky Turner was arrested Thursday and charged along with Breland in this case of burglary, Pace said.

Breland is responsible for two auto burglaries on Dec. 4 on the 700 block of Lake Forest Drive where a 9-millimeter handgun was taken from a 2015 Ford pickup truck and a 2006 Cadillac had also been ransacked, Pace said.

The final two auto burglary charges are from the 100 block of North Drive where a small amount of cash was missing from a 2000 Chevy pickup and a 2000 Chevy Cavalier was ransacked, Pace said.

All are in jail without bond Saturday, Pace said.
