Lanier Summers Jennings passed peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015. She was 84.

Mrs. Jennings was born June 6, 1931, in Itta Bena to the late Clarence Odell and Fannie Harrell Summers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Summers Steele; and a brother, Wayne Summers.

She is survived by her son, Glenn E. Jennings (Kathy) of Abilene, Texas; two daughters, Phyllis J. Lee (Bob) of Onward and Billye J. Jones (Danny) of Vicksburg; a stepson, Robert C. Jennings (Carolyn) of Eupora; a stepdaughter, Jane Jennings of Gulfport; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

Her family would like to thank Halcyon Hospice, Private Home Care, Dr. Ford, Dr. Ferris, Dr. Whitaker, and all who sent cards, phoned, texted, and prayed during her illness.

A family celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
