Pauline Harris

Pauline Harris died  Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at her daughter’s home.

Mrs. Harris was born Sept. 22, 1936, to the late Dennis and Mary Brown. She served as the church secretary at Cedar Grove MB Church for 20 plus years, and had retired from the Vicksburg-Warren School District after 25 plus years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur James Harris; a daughter, Jacqueline Elaine Harris; grandson, Derrick Funches; brothers, Dennis Brown III, Freddie Johnson, James Brown, Leroy Brown and Bobby Jack Brown; sisters, Joann Brown and Frankie Lightfoot; nephew, Marcus Brown; and great nephew, Austin Harris.

Survivors include her daughters, Ramona Warren, Brenda Smith and Tracey Davis; a son, Avery Harris; sisters, Mary Louise Brown, Lorraine Tate and Caneria Garrett; brothers, Harry Brown, Terry Brown, Earnest Brown and Dennis Johnson; 12 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Services will be noon on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at Travelers Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul H. Fleming officiating and Dr. Antione Eakins as eulogist. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove MB Church under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m.
