A Vicksburg man faces drug charges after his arrest Thursday night following a disturbance at the 5 Star convenience store at Drummond Street and Bowmar Avenue, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Christopher Galloway, 19, 110 Moonmist Drive, is accused of felony possession of marijuana after the drug was found in a car loaned to him. He was being held without bail pending an initial appearance in Municipal Court.

Williams said the events leading to Galloway’s arrest began when an officer on patrol saw a disturbance at the convenience store and stopped to break it up. After the incident was cleared, Galloway walked to a nearby car, got in and then got out of the car and walked away.

When the car, driven by a woman, went north on Drummond, the officer followed and later stopped the car on Drummond.

During traffic stop, Galloway walked up to the car as the officer was charging the woman with a misdemeanor. The marijuana was found during a search of the car, which a relative had loaned to Galloway to drive, and the officer arrested him on the drug charge.

Galloway’s bond was set at $5,000.
