Robert “Bob” Muril Farrer

Robert “Bob” Muril Farrer of Redwood died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at his home. He was 81.

Born in Yell County, Ark., Mr. Farrer served in the United States Army at Fort Hood in 1957.

He lived in California and Canton, before moving and settling in Vicksburg in 1974.

He was a conservation officer with the Mississippi Boat and Water Safety Commission, now known as the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks. He retired after 30 years of service, and attended the Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Doris Farrer; and five brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine Farrer of Redwood; and a son, Chris Farrer of Redwood; two grandsons; a sister, Geraldine Farrer Wallace of Farmington, Ark.; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Doris Leist officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Robert Reed, Rodney May, Ralph Allison, Joe Mayeaux.  Honorary pallbearer will be Greg Weeks.
