Lillie Bell Combs-Doss

PORT GIBSON — Lillie Bell Combs-Doss died Jan. 23, 2016, at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, Ill. She was 71.

She was born Jan. 23, 1945 to the late Enes Nicholas St. and Louisa Green Nicholas of Claiborne County, and was self-employed as a cook.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ense Nicholas Jr.; a sister, Celia Nicholas; and an uncle, Johnny Green.

Survivors include three sons, Andrew Nicholas of Pattison, and Ulyssess Doss and Christopher Doss, both of Chicago; one daughter, Angela Doss of Chicago; four brothers, Charles Nicholas of Chicago, Eddie Nicholas of Pattison, Bennie Nicholas of Fayette and Henry Nicholas of Philadelphia, N.J.; three sisters, Ruby Barnes and Annie Odom, both of Pattison, and Pauline Nicholas of New York; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Awesone Christ Warriors’ Outreach Tabernacle with the Rev. Columbus Felton officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Grove Christian Church Cemetery, under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Port Gibson.

Visitation is Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
