Charlie “Charlie Boy” Stevenson

Charlie “Charlie Boy” Stevenson died Jan. 31, 2016, at his home. He was 71.

He was born in Vicksburg June 2, 1944.

He was a member of Greater Grove Street Missionary Baptist Church, and attended Vicksburg public schools. He worked and retired from the Budweiser/Bush Distributor after 25 years of employment.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Katie Mae Cooksey; sister, Ethel Mae Jones; grandparents; Helen P. Caldwell, Mable Stevenson, Charlie Stevenson.

Survivors include his sons, Charlie Stevenson Jr. of Greenville, Lee Drake Stevenson of Bryan, Texas and James Jefferson of Edwards; daughters, Pamela Williams of Bryan Texas, Wanda Herrington of Vicksburg and Andra Collins of Virginia; two brothers, John Henry Rollins of Yonkers, N.Y., and Anthony Cooksey of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Demmer Lee Freeman and Mable Lee Miller, both of Vicksburg; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends including Mary Jefferson.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Greater Grove Street MB Church with the Rev. Eric Cooley officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
