Lee Esther “Sally” Davis

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. — Lee Esther “Sally” Davis, formerly of Vicksburg, died Feb. 1, 2016, at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Mich.

She was born on July 23, 1954 in Vicksburg to the late Victoria Rider-Kline and the late Earl Carson, Sr.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at Greater Christ Temple Church in Ferndale. Visitation will be 10 a.m.

Mrs. Davis received her early education at Kings Elementary School. She was a licensed real estate agent, real estate broker, mortgage broker and was previously employed with the Michigan State Housing Authority.

She was a member of Greater Christ Temple in Ferndale, and was actively involved in helping the less fortunate secure adequate housing, clothing and food. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, writing, and cooking.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Debrah Tolliver and Gwendolyn Coleman; brother, Dwight Carson; maternal grandparents, William and Ezell Rider; paternal grandparents, John and Ethel Carson; aunt Lizzie Rider-Potts and Melvin Young; uncles, Robert Rider, Joseph and Vamp Carson; stepfather, Jesse Kline; and granddaughter, Jamelah Davis.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Davis; five daughters, Tammi Carson of Houston, Texas, Dequanda Carson and Christina Carson, both of Detroit, LaTonya Davis of Laurel, Md., Shawnise Davis of Atlanta, Sharonda McDonald of West Bloomfield, Mich.; maternal sisters, Ezell McDonald of Vicksburg and Sonjia Coleman Lansing, Mich., brother, George Kline of Detroit; seven paternal siblings; two aunts; two uncles; three grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other family members including the Rider, Butler, Murray and Carson families and friends.
