The creative services and advertising teams of The Vicksburg Post were among those honored during the 2016 Mississippi Press Association’s Mid-Winter Conference in Jackson.
For their work in developing and designing advertising campaigns for local business and organizations in 2015, the team received a total of 12 awards in the large and medium sized daily categories.
The awards were presented as part of the 2016 Better Newspaper Competition Advertising Division.
“It is a joy to come to work at The Post each and every day, not only because of what we as a newspaper provide to our community, but I am given the chance to work with amazingly creative and talented professionals,” Post Publisher Tim Reeves said. “The main focus of our creative service and advertising teams is to provide top-notch advertising support and marketing solutions to our business partners, and to have that work recognized by our peers as some of the best in Mississippi is very satisfying.”
The Post’s advertising department includes advertising manager Angela Ross and Sheila Mantz, both of whom won individual first place awards. David Girard and Melissa Scallions lead the creative service team.
The combined teams won five first place awards, three second place awards and four third place awards.
The awards were presented during an awards banquet Saturday at the Hilton Conference Center in Jackson.
The winners in the MPA’s Better Newspaper Contest Editorial Division will be announced during the MPA’s Summer Convention scheduled for June in Biloxi.
